Drew Barrymore & John BarrymoreDrew Barrymore probably comes from the most famous Hollywood acting dynasty. We’ve just pulled out her grandfather John, who famously appeared in Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde and Hamlet, but four of Drew’s great-grandparents were actors, as was her grandmother, Dolores Costello and her half brother.

Joely Richardson & Natasha Richardson & Vanessa RedgraveThe Redgrave clan have long dominated the theatre and cinema world on both sides of the Atlantic. Matriarch Vanessa Redgrave is famous for her roles in Atonement, Mission: Impossible. Her daughter Joely Richardson has a starring role in Nip/Tuck and the upcoming Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, while Joely’s late sister Natasha Richardson appeared in The White Countess and on Broadway.

Emilia Fox & Lawrence Fox & Edward FoxThe only family to come close to the Redgraves in terms of British acting dynasties are the Foxes. Emilia Fox got her big break playing Mr Darcy’s sister, alongside Colin Firth in Pride & Prejudice – but her family’s thespian roots go a long way back. Her father Edward Fox has appeared in a Bond film, while cousin Laurence Fox can currently be seen in Lewis, when he’s not with wife Billie Piper.

Jeremy Irons & Max Irons & Sinead CusackGorgeous Max Irons has a good pedigree as well as good cheekbones! The Red Riding Hood star’s father is Jeremy Irons of Brideshead Revisited fame, and his mum is Sinead Cusack of V for Vendetta fame.

Donald isn’t as recognisable as his son but his career has been no less notable. The acting legend has appeared in everything from Buffy The Vampire Slayer to Pride & Prejudice opposite Keira Knightley.

Charlie Sheen & Emilio Estevez & Martin SheenCharlie Sheen’s been accused of letting fame go to his head but when you come from a family like his, that can happen very easily! The former Two And A Half Men actor counts Oscar winner Martin Sheen as his dad and Young Guns star Emilio Estevez (don’t be fooled by the second name) as his brother.

Francis Ford Coppola & Sofia Coppola & Nicolas CageFrancis Ford Coppola is most famous for directing The Godfather but his own family is almost as impressive as the Corleones. Sofia Coppola appeared in The Godfather III but her acting was panned by critics so she turned to acting, winning an Oscar for Lost In Translation. But the Coppola story doesn’t end there; Nicolas Cage (who changed his name from Coppola to avoid accusations of nepotism), is Sofia’s cousin and continued the family’s Oscar-winning ways in 1995 when he won an Academy Award for Leaving Las Vegas.

Ron Howard & Bryce Dallas HowardGinger hair isn’t the only thing that Twilight Eclipse star Bryce Dallas Howard shares with her dad. Ron Howard might be a director now but he started out as an actor, most famously as Richie Cunningham in Happy Days.
